Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
It is his initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was over.
Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
He saved four initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
